    Position Overview We are looking for a senior system software analyst for NGIC in Charlottesville, VA
    Responsibilities


    • Responsible for the technical intelligence analysis of weapon systems and C4 networks.
    • Technical analysis includes analyzing printed circuit boards, hardware devices such as microprocessors, digital signal processors (DPS) and field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) design, extraction of firmware, analysis of software and firmware to understand the capabilities and performance of the system based on software analysis.
    • Analysis includes embedded systems and with networking and real-time operating system integration.
    • Analyzes protocols used in C4 systems and reverse engineers' unknown protocols.
    • Identifies customer requirements, Intelligence Community (IC) priorities, intelligence gaps, collection opportunities, and new technology or system developments to plan analytical products.
    • Applies engineering/scientific knowledge and experience to research and analyze C4 topics utilizing data research and modeling and simulation tools.
    • Creates hardware emulators for dynamic analysis of complex software systems.
    • Coordinates and collaborates with IC partners and customer activities to share and corroborate analytical information.
    • Develops collection, research, and analytical plans.
    • Produces S&TI intelligence products, such as system capability and vulnerability assessments
    Required Qualifications


    • BA or BS degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering with a focus on micro/digital electronics, or computer forensics and 17 years of experience with S&TI research analysis and engineering or MA or MS degree in EE, ME, CS, or Mathematics
    • Experience in applying knowledge of the principles, concepts, and techniques in computer science and electrical engineering to produce targeted S&TI products of weapon systems

    Specifically includes ability to apply knowledge of multiple software programing languages (C++, python, and assembly at a minimum) to understand critical software functionality of weapon systems.


    • 12+ years of experience with conducting all-source S&TI research analysis and engineering
    • 2+ years of experience with software design and development
    • Experience with C++ and one or more programming languages
    • Experience with software design and development, including software disassemblers, debuggers, and reverse engineering applications
    • Experience with performing in-depth technical evaluations of foreign computer and network technologies
