    POSITION:
    Compliance and Risk Manager

    Summary


    As a Compliance and Risk Manager at Pella Mid-Atlantic ("PMA"), you will be responsible for ensuring that the company complies with all relevant government regulations, standards, and internal policies to mitigate risk associated with its operations.


    You will play a crucial role in identifying, assessing, and managing various compliance and operational risks and tasks, thereby safeguarding the company's reputation and financial well-being.

    Responsibilities


    Contracts:


    Review company contracts, including but not limited to job contracts, subcontractor agreements, vendor agreements, branch agreements, and lease agreements, to mitigate business and financial risk.

    Assist in establishing Contract approval matrix to make sure all contracts are appropriately approved internally.
    Develop procedure for keeping central repository of all company's contracts.

    Compliance:


    Ensure that the company and its subsidiaries are properly licensed as a general business and a contractor at all times in all states where they operate.

    Coordinate contractor licenses applications and renewals for PMA personnel, including but not limited to Sales, Installation, and Service teams, ensuring that all hold appropriate licenses at all times in all states where we operate.

    Monitor validity of company's drivers' and machine operators' licenses and certifications, as well as vehicle registrations.
    Protect PMA's interest by ensuring that PMA's subcontractors meet company's requirements from licensing, insurance, and contract perspective.
    Plan and conduct regular audits in all areas listed above.
    Ensure PMA's compliance with Pella Corporation requirements.

    Policies and Procedures:
    Maintain central records of company's policies and procedures.
    Review and update existing policies to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
    Coordinate annual reviews, updates and testing of company's disaster recovery plans.
    Identify compliance gaps and collaborate with other departments to develop new policies and procedures as required.

    Legal:
    Maintain records of company's legal matters and provide regular updates to Executive Team.
    Optimize the company's legal expenses by using internal and external legal resources appropriately.
    Liaise with external legal counsel when needed.
    Assist commercial teams in resolving disputes with customers.
    Manage relationship with Company's registered agent, making sure that the resource is optimally used.
    Coordinate preparation and submission of company's annual reports, census data, and other mandatory filing in various jurisdictions.

    Insurance:
    Maintain company's insurance portfolio, ensuring optimal coverage levels and no gaps in coverage.
    Serve as company's central point of contact with insurance broker.
    Coordinate and support renewals and audits for various insurance policies.


    Other:
    Stay abreast of relevant laws and regulations that may impact PMA business from risk and compliance perspective.
    Lead monthly Compliance review and provide other regular reporting to the Leadership Team.
    Provide Compliance Trainings to various PMA departments and subcontractors.
    Assist in evolution of PMA organizational structure in transfer of risk from corporate office to operating subsidiaries.
    Lead or aid in other special projects as needed.

    Qualifications

    Education:
    Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, law, or related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
    Professional certification in risk management is a plus.

    Experience:
    Minimum of 8 years of experience in Risk Management and/or Compliance, preferably in Construction Industry
    Prior experience in interacting with State and Local governments in DMV region.

    Communication:


    Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to tailor the message based on the audience / situation, interact effectively with internal teams and external customers.

    Patient and persistent in resolving issues with internal and external stakeholders.

    Enthusiasm for "picking up the phone", versus emailing and waiting for an answer.


    General:
    Superb attention to detail, extremely organized and disciplined.
    Able to multi-task and committed to meeting deadlines.
    High level of integrity and commitment to ethical conduct.
    Proactive and can-do attitude.
    Good sense of when to rely on self-judgement versus escalating a problem.

    Technology:
    Strong Excel skills with ability to create and maintain various reports.
    Experienced in navigating government portals and other online resources to find and submit information.
