    Department Summary
    The Department of Housing and Residence Life at the University of North Texas is a growing organization, which serves nearly 6,300 students in 15 residence halls. Our department is organized into the following areas: housing operations, residence life, and financial administration. UNT Housing contributes to the mission of the university by promoting safe and inclusive living environments, fostering student connections and campus engagement, and providing diverse learning opportunities.

    Position Overview
    This position provides support to the Assistant Director for Housing Business Operations. Responsible for monitoring and directing departmental activities related to departemtal inventory, travel, training, education and updates relevant to this area.

    Minimum Qualifications
    Bachelor's Degree and three years of highly responsible and varied office administration or business management experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

    • Knowledge of accounting/budgeting procedures.

    Job Duties



    o
    Provides support to the office area and acts as a resource to assist in the resolution of various administrative matters, including but not limited to providing reception coverage when short staffed.

    o
    Serve as departmental asset inventory coordinator. Maintains, tracks, and issues inventory and warranty expiration of all departmental assets. Responsible for issuing laptops and related equipment to employees. Oversees and tracks inventory of department telecom phone numbers and on-call cell phones, coordinates phone numbers for new employees and facilitates work orders for revisions of locations, billing, and/or other changes; maintain spreadsheets for tracking such items as security cameras, headsets, cameras, other computer related equipment and accessories.

    Perform as liaison between housing and other departments and external agencies.Create and develop a variety of working spreadsheets to track a multiple items in budgetary expenditures. Assists with Pcard processes and audits. May assist with the supervision of student employees. Occasionally plan, coordinate and facilitate special departmental events. Other tasks as assigned by supervisor

    Assess condition, schedules repairs & maintenance for: pianos, recreational equipment, and supplies located in residence halls, manages delivery of procured items to various locations, including residence halls and end users; maintains central housing golf carts safety and/or maintenance issues, handles troubleshooting for in- hall cable service, submits work orders, resolves issues Assists with procuring items thru various vendors using a Pcard, completing IDT's and submitting requisitions; coordinates in-hall staff meal plans, ordering of catering for meetings/events, creating themes for swag items and placing orders. May conduct strategic sourcing research to collect information on vendors, pricing, product specifications.

    o
    Act as departmental Concur travel expert; manages and monitors upwards of 50+ Concur user profiles, acts as process administrator for all travel requests and expense reports for 50+ users. Troubleshoot technical user errors, fields questions, resolves matters related to expense reimbursements. Develops & conducts travel training for departmental employees, trains and facilitates ongoing implementations, and updates related to policies and processes. Recognizes potential misuse, and compliance for policies and procedures.
