    £60,000 - £70,000 (dependent on experience)

    Here at Serco, we are seeking a talented Solution Architect to support the execution of IT projects and bids by working with key stakeholders to understand business requirements.

    Working within key stakeholders (business and IT), you will identify any gaps between business requirements and current IT capabilities, defining solutions to bridge the gaps, ensuring the project scope is maintained, and solutions implemented in line with Serco's architectural principles and the IT strategy for the BU.

    You will work closely with clients and business representatives to understand their business needs and design solutions to tackle the IT need of each project or bid.

    You must also understand the IT needs of the business as well as the overall impact of proposed solutions to the profitability of the business or bid you're working on.


    As part of this you'll:


    Work with the IT Project Manager to understand the needs of business and produce designs & solutions for each project.

    Whilst working on bids, liaise with the business development and bid teams to formulate appropriate solutions and cost models
    Attend solution reviews and, if appropriate, governance boards, to ensure solutions are approved and adhere to Serco architectural standards
    Present solution design and cost models as part of the Serco governance framework
    Provide architectural guidance and design leadership to the project delivery team to ensure delivery is in line with the design
    Ensure solution and service designs are aligned with business needs to support Enterprise Architecture roadmaps and IT strategies

    What you'll need to do the role:

    Practical experience of understanding business requirements, whilst maintaining a knowledge of current and emerging IT technologies
    Ability to offer clearly defined solutions to business problems, along with being an analytical thinker and logical in approaching issues
    Effective communication skills that enable you to convey complex technical details to clients in simple terms
    Ability to identify technical issues and design solutions to fix them, gathering and assimilating information
    Excellent relationship building skills
    Must be willing to undergo BPSS security clearance. In some cases, SC may also be required depending on assignment
