    Overview

    Food & Beverage Manager | Full-Time | Thief River Falls Complex at Oak View Group

    Oak View Group is the global leader in venue development, management, and premium hospitality services for the live event industry. The Food & Beverage Manager reports to the General Manager and is responsible for administration, planning, budgeting and direction of the food and beverage operations of the Thief River Falls Complex.

    This position will remain open until January 2, 2026.

    Responsibilities

    • Overall Management of Food and Beverage operations including interviewing, hiring, scheduling, ordering, inventory, labor costs and equipment maintenance.
    • Manage, develop and mentor staff of part-time and full-time employees, including initiating employee discipline as required and completing documentation of performance and attendance issues per policy.
    • Coordinate setup of all locations prior to doors, including inventory verification, assigning duties, ensuring sanitation standards, ensuring full operational status, and ensuring proper cash handling procedures.
    • Ensure legal, efficient, professional and profitable Food and Beverage operation of the venue.
    • Generate and review financial reports, including budgets, projections, forecasting, revenue analysis, disbursements, capital investments, labor and product costs, wage and salary control, and P&L statements.
    • Handle conflict resolution and, when applicable, mediation or labor negotiations.
    • Oversee serving meals and beverages to guests, including ensuring proper identification checks for alcohol service where required.
    • Observe guests to respond to requests and determine when meals are completed; execute all directives in Banquet Event Orders.
    • Complete and update administrative paperwork for events (diagrams, timelines, side-work assignments) and ensure tableware and linens are replaced as needed.
    • Identify ingredients and explain menu items; assist in setting up banquet functions (linens, dishware, glassware, silverware).
    • Maintain sanitation, health and safety standards; complete post-event evaluations and reports; support POS applications and training.
    • Maintain a safe, harassment-free work environment; address safety concerns and report issues to management.
    • Develop knowledge of all locations and equipment; coordinate labor hours and report allocations to the General Manager.
    • Participate in budgeting for Food & Beverage; forecast staffing, equipment, materials and supplies; monitor expenditures and adjust as needed.
    • Demonstrate excellent attendance; ensure equipment is operable and clean before events; recognize intoxicated guests and respond appropriately.
    • Lead F&B team on projects including training, inventory and special events; supervise Concessions Department when needed; enforce Oak View Group policies.
    • Provide HR-related support including employee relations, corrective action, coaching and related paperwork; perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager.

    Qualifications

    • 3-5 years of management experience
    • Degree requirement may be substituted for four or more years of related experience
    • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office, POS systems, and timekeeping systems
    • Experience training new employees and volunteers
    • Advanced knowledge of inventory procedures and controls
    • Experience ordering product for high-volume venues
    • Strong communication skills with staff, management, volunteers and guests
    • Ability to make sound business/operational decisions quickly under pressure
    • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented, event-driven environment
    • Thorough knowledge of sanitation, food preparation guidelines, alcohol service policies, and safety standards
    • Ability to perform basic math related to POS transactions, cash reconciliation and inventory
    • Commitment to integrity, professionalism, ethics and confidentiality
    • Nationally recognized food service sanitation and alcohol service certifications preferred
    • Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended days
    • Extensive standing and walking required
