North Texas Transportation Drainage Group is seeking to hire a mid-level Transportation Drainage / Water Resources Engineer with at least 4 years of experience in our Dallas, TX or Fort Worth offices to support our transportation projects throughout Texas.

Work at this level requires the ability to work in a team, collaborative, and fast paced environment.

Typical work assignments may include storm drainage analysis and design, cross drainage hydraulic analysis and design, H&H watershed flood studies, erosion control, quantity and cost estimates, preparation of technical reports and memorandum, and preparation of construction plans, estimates, and specifications as required.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work in a team environment with other project engineers on the detailed drainage analysis and design of urban and rural transportation projects.
• Conducts hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and drainage design per the requirements of the project and various transportation public agencies such as TxDOT.
• Lead and execute the efforts in the preparation of contract drainage drawings, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) for the project drainage elements.
• Prepares projects specific drainage / hydraulic reports and technical memorandum.

Here's What You'll Need:

• Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering is required from a U.S. ABET accredited school or equivalent.
• Engineer in Training license
• At least 4 years of experience working on transportation and/or water resources related projects providing drainage design, hydrologic, and hydraulic analyses.

Ideally Youll Also Have:

• Registration as Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas
• Experience in utilizing Microstation, Geopak Drainage, OpenRoads SUDA
• Registration as Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas
• Experience with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HY-8 and other H&H modeling tools.

Masters Degree in Civil Engineering from a U.S. ABET accredited school

• Ability to communicate effectively and coordinate all drainage design phases of a project with other team disciplines.
