- Demonstrate a basic understanding of the physiological requirements of the fish as it relates to the environment, cultural conditions, and feeding practices.
- Monitor feeding, environmental conditions, and fish behavior.
- Learn and utilize computerized feeding systems and be able to troubleshoot when necessary.
- Utilize skills and attention to detail to become highly efficient in fish husbandry techniques, not limited to feeding, which include early rearing, fin clipping, and vaccinating.
- Participate in facility operations: maintaining proper densities; predicting growth rates; and ensuring sites are functioning at capacity.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Maintain company assets in good operational condition.
- Apply effective aquaculture techniques while working to continuously improve operations with respect to productivity, quality, safety, inventory levels, and operating expense.
- Directly supervise team members in the aquaculture department. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
