    Job Description:

    Our company is currently recruiting engineers for our a local leader in the Aerospace Industry. This role is responsible for mechanical component design including requirements definition, concept generation, risk assessments, concept trade-off and selection, analysis, and validation plan definition. In addition, you will support proto-type builds and testing while overseeing component supplier interactions. The candidate should have a solid engineering background and proven experience with leading various rotating equipment and component design efforts. Additional design experience with aerospace and aviation a plus.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    - Create specifications for component design requirements based on a thorough understanding of defined higher-level flow-down requirements. Define metrics for design concept selection and validation effectiveness.

    Develop multiple component design concepts to be evaluated against specified requirements, analysis results and/or component-level testing.

    Concept selection process to utilize typical engineering decision tools (DFMEA, Pugh Matrix, etc.) and be documented for peer review.

    Write drawing change orders and interface with design teams for layouts, detail design, drawings and change implementation.

    Define and review geometric dimensioning and tolerancing for accuracy, completeness and manufacturability.

    Participate as presenter in Tollgate 500 level technical design reviews.

    Supports the advanced design and development of mechanical components.

    Assist driving cross-functional teams to execute on critical project milestones, including but not limited to, Design Reviews, material orders, prototype builds, field testing and launch.

    Desired Skills:

    Experience with managing multiple projects simultaneously.

    Experience with GD&T, general mfg. processes, tooling, and Six Sigma.

    Knowledge of mechanical design and advanced manufacturing processes.

    Experience working in ANSYS or other commercially available FEA programs as well as 3D modeling (UG or Solid Works), a plus.

    Knowledge of Reliability data analysis through statistical modeling.

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    BS/MS in Engineering with relative experience.
