    This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U. S. Coast Guard, Force Readiness Command (FORCECOM), Training Division (FC-T), Analysis, Consulting, Evaluation (FC-Tace), in Norfolk, VA.



    Duties


    This position is for an Instructional Systems Specialist responsible for assisting in data analytics, research, problem solving, and consulting for projects accepted, and performed by the Tace Branch. The incumbent serves as an expert in the principles, processes, and tools used in Human Performance Technology (HPT), Instructional Systems Design (ISD) models, and the FORCECOM Training System Analysis Standard Operating Procedures.

    Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:

    • Performing effective problem solving, guided by statistical quantitative and qualitative analysis.
    • Assisting in mathematical, statistical, and general operations research analysis to help Teps performance analysts with quantifying performance gaps and determining return on investment of recommended performance interventions.
    • Supporting analyses of CG workforce performance challenges using a wide range of Operations Research Systems Analysis (ORSA) and HPT techniques such as statistical analysis, forecasting, networking, goal programming, decision support systems, multi-criteria decision-making, linear and non-linear approximation, and computer simulations.
    • Utilizes formulated, logical methodology to solve problems and follow through on execution and completion.
    • Participating in the presentation of analyses and results with key stakeholders, participating in high-level statistical feedback, recommendations and direction in the selection and application of appropriate problem-solving methods and techniques.
