    Description

    Position Summary:
    Under general supervision, observes and audits the manufacture of parts, part assemblies and completed units using
    inspection sheets, engineering drawings, manufacturer's specifications, and precision measuring equipment to ensure
    quality products.

    Essential Functions of the Job:
    Uses inspection sheets, engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications and any precision measuring equipment to
    complete end-of-line inspection of completed parts and or assemblies.
    Audits work in process and finished goods, as required, in Fabrication, Machining, Welding, Painting, and Assembly
    departments to ensure production of quality products.
    Initiates non-conformance tickets and processes all non-conformances in a timely manner in accordance with disposition
    procedures.
    Coordinates with appropriate management for disposition of suspect parts and/or assemblies.
    Documents inspection findings via pictures, notes, and detailed descriptions within the quality inspection database.
    Responsible for performance testing and inspection of completed products as assigned.
    Helps with problem solving and troubleshooting as it applies to the quality control functions.
    Provides manufacturing floor support on a daily basis to ensure in-process work meets standard or specifications.
    Initiates and implements manufacturing improvements and/or design changes that help eliminate product defects.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):
    Able to read blueprints to include weld, fabrication, electrical, and assembly drawings, engineering drawings, schematics,
    and other technical instructions.
    Able to use precision measuring equipment including tape measure, square, calipers, gauges and micrometers.
    Able to demonstrate excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
    Computer data entry and retrieval skills preferred.
    Must have and maintain an acceptable driving record according to the point system as established for the Alamo Group
    liability insurance.

    Education and Experience:
    High School diploma or GED certificate required.
    Knowledge of manufacturing processes including forming (fabrication), welding, machining, painting, and/or assembling
    practices preferred.
    Previous auditing or inspecting experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
    Previous basic statistical analysis and root cause analysis preferred.

    Working Conditions:
    Frequent lifting and or carrying items up to 50 lbs
    independently.
    Frequent climbing in and out of vehicles which includes climbing up and down ladders.
    Frequent standing and walking on concrete surface and outdoors.
    Ability to work days, nights, weekends and overtime as needed
    May work some irregular hours.

    Working knowledge of ISO documentation is a plus
