    Sarasota Project Engineer, Civil Site Development

    J.R. Evans is a top Land Development and Floodplain Management engineering firm with offices in Fort Myers, Sarasota, and West Palm Beach, Florida. Currently, we have an opening for a motivated Project Engineer. We are looking for someone with experience in professional practice and design related to community development. This role involves handling significant projects, collaborating with clients and government agencies, and working effectively within a team. Responsibilities include designing and preparing site, grading, drainage, erosion control, and utility plans, as well as design reports.     Key Responsibilities:

    • Engage in the design process using sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and visual formats.
    • Develop site plans and provide markups for designers.
    • Prepare and revise documentation in various civil phases, including site plans, diagrams, and details.
    • Participate in project coordination meetings with internal team members, external consultants, owners, contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors.
    • Engage in client project requirement meetings, value analysis, and basic cost estimating.
    • Assist in preparing and coordinating project specifications with construction documents.
    • Conduct calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
    • Participate in constructability reviews.
    • Perform quality assurance and quality control on projects.
    • Apply standards and specifications for the civil group.
    • Work on multiple projects.

    Your Capabilities and Credentials:

    • Ability to handle various design aspects with focus on technical and project delivery excellence.
    • Strong industry knowledge and dedication to customer service excellence.
    • Experience with private clients and projects.
    • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent oral, written, and graphic communication skills, including proficiency in Civil3D, ICPR, StormCAD, and MS Office.

    Education and Experience:

    Level 1:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in Civil Engineering.
    • Engineer Intern (EI) certification required.
    • Preference for experience in South/Southwest Florida.

    Level 2:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in Civil Engineering.
    • Engineer Intern (EI) certification required.
    • Preference for experience in South/Southwest Florida.
