    POSITION OVERVIEW

    AITC is seeking a Telecommunications Mechanic to repair and maintain network equipment, cabling, and other devices in the field. Periodically conducts routine maintenance on network equipment to ensure network is running optimally.

    RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES


    • Responsible for documenting and verifying switching equipment problems and repairs.
    • Installs, maintains, tests, troubleshoots, and repairs switches, ISP/OSP cables, and other telecommunications equipment in the field to ensure optimum network usage and quality.
    • Reports to a Team Lead or Task Manager.
    • Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function.
    • Additional duties as assigned.
    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS


    • ITIL Foundations within 6 months.
    • SECRET Clearance (Level II) / Ability to obtain Secret Clearance (Level I)
    • Security + CE (for ISP)
    • Must be a US citizen.
    • Able to work Overtime as required.
    • Must be available to travel as required.
    Level I (Experience & Education years related experience / High School Diploma

    Level II (Experience & Education years related experience / High School Diploma

    PREFERRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE


    • Knowledgeable in Army Network Enterprise Center operations
    • May require CDL driver's license and heavy equipment operator certs.
    • BISCI, OEM, Certified Fiber Optic Technician (FOA) (CFOT) certification or similar industry certifications in equipment used to perform job (e.g., tester, splicer, and cabling type(s). TIA 102; EIA 310D; TIA 603C; Bonding Grounding JSTD 607A.
    • One of the following (for ISP): o CEH
    o CFR

    o Cloud+

    o GICSP

    o SSCP


    • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills (verbal and written)
    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work reliably under minimal supervision.
    • Work as part of our team to ensure customer satisfaction.
    PHYSICAL DEMANDS


    • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel and reach.
    • Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English.
    • Frequently work at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.
    • Must have visual acuity.
    • Must be able to lift up-to 25 pounds.
