Description
ABOUT THE ROLEPerform and coordinate electrical design and development of new equipment and the modification of existing electrical equipment consistent with plant standards, including equipment changes due to plant procedure changes.*Required experience in medium voltage (>4000 volt), Motors, Power Distribution, and Power Generation.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
Participate in the creation of preventative maintenance routines (PMRs) and bills of materials (BOMs) for electrical equipment.Lead RCA, FMEA, and troubleshooting process for key plant electrical and instrumentations problems and failures.
Prepare engineering scope of work for plant electrical projects.
Interface with contractors utilized in project work, including solicitation of quotes, selection and field direction.
Prepare cost estimates and justifications for the capital plan.
Conduct economic and operation feasibility studies on proposed electrical modifications and additions.
Maintain a standard set of specifications for consistent application related to modifications or additions.
Maintain, organize, prepare, review and revise drawings as required.
Develop detailed preventative maintenance routines for all plant electrical equipment.
Research/recommend new PM procedures based on newly developed technologies.
Use SAP to purchase parts and services, review work orders, analyse reports and manage capital projects related to electrical project management and PM development.
Other duties as assigned.WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Required Education:

Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
Required Work Experience:
at least 5 years on industrial setting
Travel Requirements:
MinimalRequired Computer and
Software Skills:
SAP, Autocad, Project, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
Additional Requirements:
Working knowledge of PLC programming and process control systems is preferred (ControlLogix, PLC-5 and SLC 500).
Experience in instrumentation, motors, starters and VFD's, communication networks (Modbus, Modbus Plus, Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, etc).Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas.
Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of company approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
Bachelor's Engineering Degree is requiredPreferred exp in Cement Plant or similar industry MUST have experience focused on Power Distribution, understanding of electrical busses, substation engineering, and power studies experienceAdditionally, ae are building and managing a Solar Farm at the Alpena Cement plant, experience with that is helpfulMust be able to relocate to upper Michigan We cannot provide sponsorship at this time
