About the Role:
The Speech Therapist plays a critical role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders across diverse settings including home health care and educational environments.
This position focuses on delivering personalized therapy plans that promote effective communication and enhance the quality of life for clients of all ages.
The therapist collaborates closely with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support, particularly in early intervention and school programs.
Additionally, the role involves supervising home health aides and managing compliance with home care regulations to maintain high standards of service delivery.
Ultimately, the Speech Therapist contributes to the holistic development and well-being of clients by applying evidence-based practices and fostering an inclusive, supportive therapeutic environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
Valid state licensure or certification to practice as a Speech Therapist in the United States.
Experience in speech therapy with knowledge of home health care practices and regulations.
Strong understanding of early intervention techniques and school-based therapy programs.
Ability to supervise home health aides and manage care delivery in home settings.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in specialized areas such as pediatric speech therapy or augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).
Experience working within multidisciplinary teams in health care or educational environments.
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and teletherapy platforms.
Additional training in home care management and regulatory compliance.
Bilingual abilities or experience working with diverse populations.
Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough evaluations to identify speech, language, and communication disorders in clients within home health and school settings.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each client's specific needs and goals.
Provide direct speech therapy services focusing on articulation, language development, and early intervention strategies.
Supervise and coordinate home health aides to ensure adherence to care plans and regulatory standards.
Collaborate with families, educators, and healthcare professionals to support client progress and integrate therapy goals into daily routines.
Maintain accurate documentation and comply with home care regulations and organizational policies.
Participate in school programs and community outreach to promote awareness and access to speech therapy services.
