    Under the supervision of the director, this position is to perform animal care tasks, manage animals, move animals (primarily sheep flock of ewes and lambs), utilize herding & guard dogs, and follow center procedures during lambing season.

    This position will assist in the repair of buildings, roads, equipment, and other facilities.

    The Hopland Research & Extension Center (HREC), located in Mendocino County, provides land, labor, and facilities for University researchers in the areas of animal science, rangeland management, wildlife and plant ecology, soil science, and public health.

    It encompasses 5,358 acres, ten University staff, and multiple buildings, including seven houses and the Roderick Shippey Field Laboratory and Education Facility.

    The Center serves some 15 active research projects, and the unit has the responsibility for all maintenance and repair for the facility.

    This is a designated position requiring a background check and may require fingerprinting due to the nature of the job responsibilities.
