    Job Description

    The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed, while supervising Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees.

    This is a 13-week contract position.

    Responsibilities

    Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to create an individualized plan of care.

    Identify teaching needs and collaborate with patients and interdisciplinary teams on goals related to diagnoses.

    Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process.

    Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.

    Communicate changes in patient status among care providers to support continuity of care and patient safety.

    Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel while maintaining a safe environment.

    Assume charge responsibilities as required, contributing positively to the unit's dynamics.

    Actively pursue professional growth through continuing education and self-study.

    Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

    BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.

    ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH ONLY).

    Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
