    The Automation/Controls Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement automated machine solutions tailored to the unique requirements of Fort Wayne Metals' wire manufacturing equipment, including ground-up PLC logic development, advanced servo motion control, variable frequency drive (VFD) parameterization, heating controls, process controls, and programmable safety solutions.

    You will be responsible for things like the following:


    Control Systems Design:
    Capability to perform ground-up electrical design for complex control systems on automated machinery.

    Technical Skill Set:

    Proficiency in advanced servo motion control, variable frequency drive (VFD) parameterization, heating controls, process controls, and programmable safety solutions.


    PID Tuning:
    Experience in addressing automation challenges, including tension control, PID tuning, spooling, and wire processing.

    PLC Programming:

    Experience in developing unique PLC programs for new applications and the ability to learn additional programming languages as required.


    Safe Designs:

    Up-to-date familiarity with safety regulations related to industrial machine design, wiring, and safety, adhering to NEC and NFPA standards.
