    This position is responsible for maintaining accurate and complete financial records related to subrecipient monitoring to ensure the Agency is in compliance with all federal/state/local rules and regulations.


    Some of the job duties include:

    • Assisting staff in the review and approval of subrecipient invoices to ensure compliance.
    • Recommending corrective actions when necessary.
    • Working closely with program staff and conducting financial site visits when necessary.
    • Conducting subrecipient training for internal and external subrecipients as needed.
    Minimum and Additional Requirements


    A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field; and professional experience directly related such as accounting, auditing, or finance; or an approved equivalency based on education and years of experience.

    At least four (4) years experience in federal/state/private grants management, and general ledger.

    Must be highly proficient in use of spreadsheets (MS Excel) and database applications (MS Access).

    Preferred Qualifications

    Prior work history monitoring the financial requirements of federal subrecpients.

    Experience working in various SCEIS modules.

    Additional Comments

    This position is part of the South Carolina Department of Environmental Control's Bureau of Finacial Management, Grant Compliance division.

    The work performed supports DHEC's mission to improve the quality of life for all South Carolinians by protecting and promoting the health of the public and the environment.

    Effective July 1, 2024, this position will transfer to the South Carolina Department of Public Health created by Senate Bill 399 which provides for the creation of the Department of Public Health to assume the public health-related functions of DHEC.


    DRIVING RECORD:

    If this position requires the applicant to possess a valid driver's license to operate a state vehicle or personal vehicle, any applicant being considered in the final stages of selection for the position will be required to provide a certified copy of a 10-year driving record.
