    Job Description

    Job DescriptionMinimum 1+ years paraprofessional or special education experience required.

    We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Summer School Paraprofessional to join our special education program near Arlington Heights, Illinois. This temporary full-time position will support our students and teachers from Monday through Friday throughout the summer school session. The ideal candidate will have a valid paraprofessional certification and a passion for working with children with special needs.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist the classroom teacher in implementing lesson plans and activities tailored to students' individual needs.
    • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, reinforcing learning concepts and offering personalized assistance.
    • Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to the teacher to adjust instructional strategies as needed.
    • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and learning.
    • Help with classroom management, including organizing materials, setting up equipment, and maintaining a clean and safe learning space.
    • Assist students with personal care tasks, if necessary, ensuring their fort and well-being.
    • Collaborate with other paraprofessionals, teachers, and school staff to support student success.
    • Participate in training sessions and meetings as required.

    Qualifications:

    • Must have a valid paraprofessional certification in the state of Illinois.
    • Previous experience working with children in a special education setting is preferred.
    • Strong interpersonal and munication skills.
    • Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively as part of a team.
    • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in helping students with special needs.
    • Basic knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques for students with disabilities.
