    We are currently seeking a Health and Safety Technician to join our clients' team at their facility

    in Point Celeste, LA .

    Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a strong focus on Health & Safety fundamentals in the field.

    Key responsibilities include overseeing and implementing safety policies and procedures, conducting regular inspections and audits, and serving as the primary point of contact for all Health & Safety related matters in the field.


    The duties and responsibilities of this role include:
    Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, standards, and requirements related to safety policies and procedures.
    Continuously inspecting and auditing work tasks against company-defined procedures, policies, and working environment conditions.
    Serving as the focal point in the field for addressing Health & Safety related questions, concerns, activities, and needs.

    Spending extended periods of time in the field, walking throughout assigned areas, and climbing stairs/ladders as needed to reach elevated work areas.

    Ensuring that hazard assessments and permitting requirements are followed.

    Engaging workers in the field who are performing tasks unsafely and mentoring them in correct measures or practices to promote a safety-first mentality.

    Assisting in compliance reviews, general risk assessments, and other safety assessments to support Health and Safety management.
    Monitoring contractor activities to ensure adherence to safety protocols.
    Enforcing a zero-tolerance policy towards unsafe conditions, hazards, and scenes.
    Conducting daily safety inspections, observations, and audits to address unsafe acts and conditions promptly.
    Performing facility audits, observations, surveys, and inspections to identify environmental, safety, and occupational hazards and weaknesses.
    Reporting safety inspection results, observations, and audits to HSSE leadership and recommending mitigation measures.

    Reporting accidents, incidents, or events immediately to Shift Supervision and Health and Safety Manager and aiding in the investigation process.

    Participating in incident investigations to identify root causes and effective corrective actions.
    Assisting and supporting Emergency Response processes for the site.
    Inspecting, controlling, and enforcing effective housekeeping standards.
    Participating as a member of the Site Safety Committee.
    Performing other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications for this role include:
    High school diploma or equivalent,
    A degree or certification in Health & Safety Sciences or a related field strongly preferred.

    Candidates must have specific experience with Health & Safety in Commissioning and Startup activities, as well as a solid understanding of Permit to Work processes and systems.

    Strong leadership skills, demonstrated by at least five years in a Health & Safety Technician role, are required, along with a minimum of five years' experience in a similar position, preferably in the LNG, Petrochemical, or Oil and Gas manufacturing industry.

    Completion of OSHA general industry and/or construction certifications, along with Occupational Health and Safety knowledge and experience, is necessary.
    Experience in Industrial operations, natural gas operations, or liquefaction facilities is highly desirable.

    Additionally, candidates should possess Process Safety Management experience and any relevant certifications such as OSHA 500, OSHA 510, CSP, CHST, LSP, OHST, ASP, CPR, First Aid, and AED certification.

    Candidates must be eligible to work in the US, pass a drug test and background check with a clear criminal history, and either possess or have the ability to obtain a TWIC card.

    Effective communication and interaction skills, both verbal and written, are essential, as is the ability to work off shifts and overtime.
