    Job Title: Director of Flight Training and Standards

    Location: Orlando, FL

    Department: Operations

    Reports To: VP of Flight Operations

    FLSA Status: Exempt

    Summary: Individual oversees and delegates operations engineering functions and monitoring the operational performance of the National Airlines aircraft fleet, participating in industry events related to product and operational reliability improvements, monitors original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and vendor notices and data releases.

    Essential Functions:

    • Follows company's safety management system.
    • Ensures maintenance and flight operations are utilizing the most efficient and reliable operating procedures.
    • Ensures fleet reliability issues are addressed in a timely manner.
    • Reviews data releases and available modifications that will ensure maximum aircraft performance.
    • Suggests revisions to maintenance and operations programs as needed.
    • Ensures most current documents are used from OEM and vendors.
    • Ensures safety of maintenance, ramp, and flight crews by requesting additional training
    • Conducts airman competency and proficiency checks designated by FAA standards.
    • Maintains training, checking and qualification currency to serve as pilot in command and/or second in command.
    • Develops standard operating procedures.
    • Sets standards for all fleet types to include checklist.
    • Responsible for 14 CFR required crew line checks, proficiency checks, and crew training standards.
    • Develops standard evaluation profiles for all fleet types.
    • Develops content and ensures accuracy of the training manual and related documents.
    • Ensures consistency and standardization of instructors and check airman in simulator training.
    • Determines additional training requirements and maintains crew members' training records.
    • Responsible for facility audits, records audits, and training systems approved by FAA.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • Authority to supervise, monitor and modify training programs contained in the FOTM as necessary to ensure compliance with company records, test, and training events.
    • Monitors and verify staff are ready to be released from training.
    • Conducts observations of training to ensure reliability and efficiency.
    • Audits contract instructors and contract training facilities every 24 months

    Qualifications:

    • Must have working knowledge and understanding of applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • An Airline Transport Pilot License with Appropriate Ratings

    Computer Skills:

    • Microsoft Office Suite

    Travel/Other requirements:

    • 40-60% Travel
