SUMMARY: This position is responsible for leading the Actuarial function in Commercial Lines. Maintains and improves existing pricing function, including rate indications, rate modeling, and building raters. Work directly with product managers to file rate changes. This person will support the lines of business in helping them to thrive by being an enthusiastic, creative, resourceful and collaborative manager who also help drive our product agenda by advancing our data analytics capabilities. Assures that performance and results are consistent with our business model, enterprise objectives and financial goals.

Duties for this position include:

• Responsible for supporting the Insurance Analytics function within Commercial Lines.
• Build and manage data resources for Commercial Lines.
• Analyze rating variables and recommend changes.
• Maintain and improve rate indications process.
• Maintain and improve Excel based raters that allow company to model rate changes by re-rating existing book of business.
• Work with data analysis and modeling projects from project/sample design, business review meetings with internal and external clients deriving requirements/deliverables, reception and processing of data, performing analyses and modeling to final reports/presentations, communication of results and sales support.
• Follows industry trends in insurance and related data/analytics businesses. Contributes ideas and actively participates in the investigation and research of new processes, resources and technologies that can potentially be implemented to provide improved customer solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors/Masters in Statistics/Mathematics/Actuarial Science . ACAS or FCAS a plus.
• 3-8 years of experience with Property & Casualty insurance pricing. Experience with ISO Commercial Lines rates and rules is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Access.
• Ability to analyze/ solve complex problems and be 'hands-on' with the data and tools.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects.
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Good judgment with ability to make timely and sound decisions.
• Creative, flexible, and innovative team player.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
• Acute attention to detail.
