    Job Overview:
    We are seeking a highly experienced Director of Mechanical Engineering to join our leadership team.

    The successful candidate will manage all aspects of our mechanical engineering operations, oversee complex projects from conception to completion, and ensure we continue to meet the high standards our clients have come to expect.

    This position is based out of our Northern Virginia location.


    Responsibilities:


    Lead, manage, and mentor a team of mechanical engineers and designers in the design, development, and implementation of various MEP systems for a wide range of projects.

    Oversee all mechanical engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
    Collaborate with clients, architects, and contractors to ensure all mechanical engineering aspects of projects are properly integrated and executed.
    Oversee the preparation and management of project budgets, schedules, and resources.
    Conduct design reviews and provide technical guidance to the team.
    Foster a culture of continuous improvement, promoting the use of best practices, new technologies, and innovative mechanical engineering approaches.
    Ensure all mechanical engineering work complies with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
    Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the mechanical engineering division's efficiency and effectiveness.

    Qualifications:


    Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required; a Master's degree or Professional Engineering (PE) license is highly preferred.

    Minimum of 10 years' experience in the mechanical engineering field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in an MEP firm.

    Strong knowledge of mechanical systems design and applications in buildings and facilities.
    Extensive experience with HVAC, plumbing, fire protection systems, and energy management.

    Proven track record of managing large, complex projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

    Excellent leadership and team management skills.

    Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to collaborate with various stakeholders, including clients, architects, contractors, and internal teams.

    Proficient in using various mechanical engineering software and tools, including AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC analysis software.
    Strong understanding of industry regulations and standards, including ASHRAE, NFPA, and local building codes.
