    We are currently searching for an experienced Proposal Coordinator to support our West Gulf Region .

    (This is a hybrid position and will work in one of our West Gulf offices - Arkansas, Louisiana, or Mississippi)The successful candidate should have experience in technical writing, professional editing, grant writing, or proposal coordination in the A/E and transportation industries.

    Knowledge of In-Design and the Adobe Suite of products is a plus. Proposal coordination is a deadline-driven, detail-oriented environments, with evolving priorities as opportunities arise.

    This means our Proposal Coordinator needs to be focused and organized, yet flexible; creative, but with excellent time and project management skills; and a team player with the ability to work independently.


    What youll be doing:
    Working closely with project managers/technical staff and other marketing staff to organize and manage layout, design, and delivery of submittals, such as RFP/RFQ responses and presentationsDeveloping, writing, editing, and proofreading content for proposals, presentations, grant submittals, project descriptions, staff resumes, and marketing collateralKeeping track of various deadlinesStudying and understanding the history, structure, objectives, programs, and financial needs of Volkert and our clientsResponding to internal and external queries on drafted and submitted proposalsCoordinating with multiple departments to gather necessary information for proposals, and data to report on achievement and evaluation of goals and objectivesMaintaining positive relationships with funders and other stakeholdersLeading the development, writing and submission of grant proposals to local, state, and federal entities, and nongovernmental funding sourcesWhat you need to have:Bachelors degree2-3 years experience in grant writing or proposal writing with a strong preference for experience with federal grant programs or proposal coordination in the engineering industryHighly organized with strong research and budget development skillsSuperior writing, editing, and communication skillsSkills in internet prospecting and researchExperience working in a deadline driven environmentExcellent research, analysis, and reporting skillsDemonstrated experience in identifying, applying for, and receiving grants from public and private sources is a plusIntegrity and a sense of humorCharacteristics of a successful Volkert team member:Be a brand ambassador for the company who engages in diversity and inclusionBe self-motivated to meet individual goals and maintain accountability in a team environmentExercise initiative and independent judgement in the solution of work problemsBe able to communicate effectively- verbal and writtenBe able to multi-task in a team environment
