    B-1 Avionics Analyst

    Job Description

    Collect information to analyze and evaluate aircraft maintenance and related aircraft and systems depot maintenance, inspections, and repair processes and procedures. Analyzes and participates in development of logistics plans affecting the production, distribution, and inventory of aircraft. Maintains appropriate records and prepares reports. Coordinates logistics activities with internal/external customers. Oversees the completion of projects including planning; assigning, monitoring, and reviewing progress and accuracy of work; evaluating results, etc. Provides activity and status reports to management. Directs and leads lower-level employees. Performs all other duties as assigned.

    Required Education/Experience

    • Requires a High School Diploma.Maintenance experience that provides knowledge and exposure to the fundamental theories, principles, and concepts within the specified discipline. Requires 4 to 7 years of relevant experience.
    • Experience as a maintainer, technician, logistician, maintenance planner/scheduler, supply manager, or equipment specialist is required.
    • Applicant must possess experience in the following: MS Office, word processing, data management and record keeping.
    • Successful applicant must be capable of working independently and in a team environment and possess good communication skills, both written and oral.
    • Applicant will be expected to occasionally brief results to other team members and to KBR Management, and our customers.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance is required.

    Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Knowledge of the B-1 Weapon System sub-systems is strongly desired.
    • Experience with Avionics Integrity Program (AVIP) is a plus.
    • Utilize data effectively to improve assigned projects and systems including reviewing lists and summaries, identify patterns, analyze results, and make presentations to others. Includes familiarity with the data that is available; understand the goals of the assigned projects and tasks; understand the needs of the clients/stakeholders; explore creative approaches to using data. Analyze data and establish requirements for technical objectives and characteristics. Includes familiarity with Technical Orders and Illustrated Parts Breakdown (IPB) Lists.
    • Collect information to analyze and evaluate aircraft depot maintenance, aircraft, system, subsystem and parts reliability and maintainability and supportability requirements and issues regarding critical safety items in support of the USAF B-1 System Program Office (SPO).
    • Analyze and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and technical data; and identify and analyze complex problems and develop innovative solutions.
    • Assess a wide range of maintenance concepts, principles, and practices of systems/equipment.
    • Follow required security and safety regulations, practices, and procedures.
    • Provide technical advice in terms of oral and written briefings, reports, and recommendations to leadership, maintenance technicians, engineers, etc.
    • Utilize database software to find records, sort, review, edit, print, and perform other functions. Use built-in forms and reports in databases. Explore software applications and learn various functions and features. Write queries and reports using available tools; copy data into Excel or other formats for further analysis. Use computer applications in support of planning, designing, analysis, and reporting.
    • Input and analyze data to assist in ensuring avionics systems, subsystems and component integrity is maintained for the weapon systems operational service life.
    • Prepare detailed charts/diagrams, outlining maintenance and supply requirements and processes using Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel.
    • Perform other similar duties as assigned in support of the B-1 Weapon System.
