Job Description

As a Security Officer - Patrol Driver in Champaign, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join a leading team where flexibility meets opportunity. As a Part-Time Security Officer, you can build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. Learn more: As an unarmed Patrol Officer in a busy retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will provide customer service, clear communication, and timely reporting while supporting a people-first, integrity-driven team. This is a driving post, so a valid driver's license is required to meet AU Driver Policy Requirements.

What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to staff, shoppers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail location.

Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout sales floors, entrances, loading areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential issues.

Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalating disputes when appropriate and requesting assistance from onsite leadership and/or public responders as needed.

Monitor store activity for signs of theft, disturbances, and/or policy violations, and document observations and actions in required reports and logs.

Control access to restricted areas, assist with crowd and line management during peak times, and communicate promptly with management regarding security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
