    POSITION TITLE:

    Director, ChoirQUALIFICATIONS:

    • A candidate with a terminal degree in Music Education with a focus on Choir management or conducting is preferred.
    • An M.A. is required.
    • Candidate must have a proven record of directing and managing Choirs at the University level, experience with fund raising and recruitment, and the ability to collaborate with others in the ongoing development of the music curriculum.
    • Successful University teaching experience.
    • Proven success in public school teaching (minimum of two years).
    • Demonstrated success in all facets of a university Choir program, including the recruitment and retention of quality students, establishing and maintaining positive relationships with public school Choir directors, and university/community constituents.
    • Demonstrated musical, financial, and administrative success with University and/or high school concert and athletic Choirs

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Developing learning goals and outcomes for the Choir program
    • Managing instrument procurement, maintenance, and inventory; traveling with the ensembles;
    • Organization and administration of the preseason Choir camp;
    • Creating and maintaining the department website and social media accounts,
    • Maintenance of the Choir library;
    • Coordinating homecoming activities
    • Lead new instrumental music initiatives, assist orientation and other initiatives.
