• Performs accessioning duties receives accessions specimens checking documentation patient demographic data practitioner requested procedures appropriateness sample instructs doctors nursing personnel personnel proper techniques collection preparation materials desired testing diagnosis.
• Examines biopsies surgical specimens exercising attention assure accurate differentiation reporting decalcifies ossified tissue bone marrow biopsies preserves microscopic architecture tissue performs embedding paraffin wax orienting tissue hardening surface resistance proper cutting sections recognizing origin type tissues orients cuts complex small specimens.
