Class Summary:
Incumbents are responsible for performing professional level assistance in assessing residents' needs and coordinating either social services or specific program activities with the residents.
The Program Coordinator is the second level of a three-level Program Coordinator series and is distinguished from the Program Assistant by its responsibility for performing professional-level assistance in assessing residents' needs.
Position Summary:
Incumbents are responsible for supervising staff; responding to crisis situations; enrolling program applicants; monitoring participants for continuation or termination from programs; managing meals, housekeeping and coordinating activities with service providers.1.
Recommends hiring of all Program Assistants, Senior Aides, and volunteers.
Monitors performance, provides coaching, advice, recognition and consultation to staff.
Develops schedules for seven-day workweek; delegates and supervises daily performance of CHSP staff and volunteers. Establishes an environment that encourages staff to reach out, develop trust, and motivate CHSP participants to function optimally.

Uses established social work practices, providing case coordination to assist CHSP participants to maintain their health and independence and comply with the PHA lease in areas such as timely rent payment, appropriate behavior, and adequate housekeeping.

Ensures program compliance with state, federal, county, city and CHSP/HUD regulations pertaining to health, sanitation, and safety standards.
