- Drive new product development and the creation of tools & processes supporting efficient design.
- Apply technical knowledge to the on-time delivery of work products through the product development life cycle for each project.
- Utilize technical awareness to proactively identify and mitigate risks in design delivery.
- Serve as a mentor to Design & Release Engineers and members of the engineering teams.
- Ensure that materials, components, and pack solutions meet internal and customer requirements.
- Support the evaluation of supplier information, specifications, and validation data to support the selection of appropriate suppliers.
- Align with the Advanced Manufacturing and Manufacturing teams to identify design improvements and processes to support Design for Manufacture/ Design for Assembly (DFM/DFA).
- Ensure prototype builds occur on time and that components are to print.
- Establish and manage direct and indirect labor costs and the engineering budget associated with new product development.
- Expand professional and technical knowledge by attending educational seminars and conferences, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Adhere to federal and state regulations.
- Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures.
- Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree.
- Minimum of ten (10) years' of product development and engineering experience in a manufacturing-focused environment.
- Minimum of five (5) years' of progressive supervisory or management experience.
- Adept in troubleshooting methods and disciplined documentation of findings.
- Effective communicator, capable of concisely presenting highly technical data to internal and external customers.
- Minimum two (2) years' of design, engineering, manufacturing, or service of lithium-ion battery systems in either a hands-on role or in a supervisory role.
- Minimum of two (2) years' of experience in executing design, engineering and testing based on common automotive and industry standards.
- Familiar with the product development process.
- Self-motivated problem solver; pays attention to details.
