    Description


    A Geotechnical Engineer will use the principles of soil mechanics and rock mechanics to investigate the soil and other components of the earth and thereby determine the properties of these materials.

    This would enable the Geotechnical Engineer to determine whether a project site would be suitable for a specific project.

    The Geotechnical Engineer would also be able to work with the lay of the land to ensure the best result.

    Assists Project Managers with detailed engineering analysis in the preparation of engineering reports, permit applications and construction plan preparation.
    Geotechnical subsurface investigations related to civil design (building foundations, cut and fill slopes, retaining walls, landslides, and pavements), as well as construction quality assurance services
    Coordinate or monitor subsurface drilling, obtain soil, and rock samples, prepare boring logs, develop laboratory testing programs, interpret laboratory data, perform geotechnical analyses, and prepare detailed geotechnical reports
    Quality assurance services in support of our landfill and impoundment construction and closure projects
    Other duties as assigned
    Skills
    Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans and drawings
    Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction
    Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs and AutoCAD Civil 3D software
    Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
    Ability

    to travel up to X% with occasional overnight stays
    Valid driver's license and insurable on company policy
    Education and Experience
    Bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical emphasis
    5 years of professional experience in related field
    Professional Engineer license
    Successful completion of the
    IMEGnew engineer mentoring program, or a minimum of three years of qualifying experience
