    As a Server Engineering Support with

    Support the Information Services DivisionSalary is based on education and experienceResponsibilities


    Manage Windows and Linux servers running from Vmware vSphere and cloud environment - Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)Administer server components such as but not limited to Windows File server, DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, Group Policy, IIS.Deploy and manage security updates to Microsoft Windows serversAdminister security access policies and controls for computerized data and resourcesProcess and store parameters and controls used to provide data security and access permissionsMonitor security logs, provide procedural safeguards and prepare reports pertaining to access, utilization, violations, and intrusionConduct research for server hardware and software upgrades, enhancements, and migrationsImplement approved change requests from users to meet all user requirements and schedulesResearch and stay current on the latest server technologiesMonitor system usage and identify areas for expansion or reconfigurationDevelop technical documentation and materials including diagrams, models, manuals, and proceduresTrain and cross-train across functional disciplines to maintain support levels and coverage within the unitInstall, configure, and maintain operating system software, installing new releases, applying patches or fixes, testing, and implementing into production environmentResearch, install, configure, and maintain, test and coordinate implementing operating system software and other vendor supplied software updates, upgrades, and fixesInstall, configure, and maintain storage management, backup, archival and recovery components in a networked server environmentTroubleshoot, isolate, and replace operating system and server components.

    Maintain systems at 99% uptime and reliabilityPhysical Demands and Work Environment

    This position works in a comfortable office setting with a computer for a large percentage of the workday. The noise level in the work environment is usually mild. Occasional travel may be required.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Requirements include five years of experience with Windows Server administration in Vmware, vSphere and Cloud environments.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

    Knowledge of basic concepts of Microsoft operating systems, server hardware, server virtualization, cloud computing, and networkingServer virtualization technology including Vmware vSphere, Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)Ability to listen, learn, adapt to change, and work with a teamSkills in verbal communication, customer relationships, problem solving, critical thinking, and attention to detailAdministering systems using PowerShell and a knowledge of scriptingComprehensive knowledge of server management tools, advanced networking concepts, advanced operating systems, and best practicesAbility to prioritize tasks and work independentlySkills in written communicationDemonstrated ability to work independentlyAbility to interpret customer requirements into technical solutions, produce technical diagrams, and provide mentorshipSkills in presentation, leadership, and project managementPreference will be given to candidates who possess

    Windows Server administrationBachelor's Degree in Computer ScienceMicrosoft Certifications such as MCSE, MCSA, Azure Fundamentals or AdministratorCertified Information Security Manager (CISM)Vmware Certified Associate
