    General Responsibilities

    Underwrite loans in a timely manner that will result in an acceptable level of credit risk and an appropriate risk return relationship.

    The senior underwriter will facilitate the booking of new loans, will ensure that customers understand our requirements and their responsibilities, will manage the entire underwriting process through closing and affect a smooth transition to the Portfolio.

    Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
    The Underwriter Axiom Bank Factoring and ABLs Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to the following:
    Underwrite the Banks ABL products, regardless of size or complexity, in a timely and efficient manner.
    Understand the Banks ABL credit policies and procedures.

    Work closely with the various Business Development Officers in order to provide a consultative/value-added credit perspective, both prior to proposal issuance and at all times thereafter.

    Review and analyze new deal packages for content and completeness and conduct initial interview with prospect.
    Order and review due diligence and documentation with Legal Coordinator.
    Review and analyze financial statement spreads and understand flows of cash.
    Review field examinations and appraisals and understand the collateral and financial trends indicated therein.
    Visit prospect location and meet management of the business when needed.
    Gain thorough understanding of the Prospects business and the companys assets.
    Review reporting requirements and processing with client.
    Analyze debtor information in conjunction with Debtor Credit Manager.
    Review any supporting documents and analyze all collateral presented such as accounts receivables, inventory, M&E, and PP (when applicable).
    Prepare the Credit Approval Memo for appropriate approval.
    Oversee closing documentation process and be able to effectively negotiate documents with prospect.

    Conduct and document the closing process and oversee/assist the efforts of the Portfolio Manager and Collateral Analyst assigned to the deal with the first funding request.

    Mentor and train underwriters and less experienced on ABL.
    Perform other ad-hoc functions, projects, etc. for other areas of the bank as required.

    Working Conditions

    This position is performed in a regular office work environment, including ability to lift and carry files of up to 10 lbs.

    Extensive use of computer terminal and keyboard.

    The incumbent will be expected to be able to work Monday through Friday and work will mainly be performed at the Dallas, TX location; occasional evening and weekend work may be required.

    Flexibility with work location and hours may be granted if circumstances permit.

    Qualifications Summary
    Education
    Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business related program.
    Experience
    5-7 years of secured lending experience.

    Knowledge & Skills:
    Strong credit management skills
    Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in the financial field
    Ability to exercise good judgment
    Detail oriented and willingness to work in the details
    A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required; Ability to work well with various departments
    Very skilled in Microsoft Excel and Word
    Exceptional overall computer skills and prioritizing abilities
    Strong sense of urgency combined with strong communication skillset
    Customer service and responsiveness is a critical aspect in the role
