- Provides technical insight and data at daily production / Gemba meeting
- Analyzes plant equipment and processes, and develops action plans that generate improved performance
- Actively seeks operational gaps and provides insight and recommended actions to local management
- Works with suppliers and Rehrig' s Safety Team to perform risk assessments of new equipment and develop training
- Understands and applies OSHA and Rehrig Pacific safety requirements to their work
- Supports local Safety Manager with work cell audits and improvements
- Regularly communicates with plant personnel to understand safety challenges and opportunities to improve
- Drives labor reduction initiatives within the plant and develops solutions and technology to achieve it
- Performs research and development on cutting edge technologies to improve plant operations
- Ensure all automation is working properly and to its full extent to maximize return on investment
- Understands and adheres to Rehrig Pacific's CAPEX management processes and accounting practices
- Manages suppliers / vendors to ensure alignment with project plans and budgets
- Maintains clear alignment with local and National project teams
- Assembles and manages details project plans for all projects and drives accountability of defined deliverables
- Develops work instructions and training material for new equipment
- Communicates with peers within Rehrig Pacific Company to solicit and share best practices
- With cross functional team members, reviews and improves existing standards using PDCA methodology
- Solicits feedback from manager, peers, and stakeholders to understand development opportunities.

- Leads or supports technical work / activities within the plant (engineering, maintenance, tooling, troubleshooting, etc)
- Maintain in-depth understanding of plant infrastructure, systems and equipment
- Leads local manufacturing readiness plans for new product launches
- Consistently reduces operational waste and costs
- Exercises and advances Lean Manufacturing practices
- Provides reliable technical support to the local plant and the organization
- Leads and complete new equipment installations successfully
- Performs in-depth analyses to understand system gaps and issues
- Participates in local recruiting events for engineering resources (internships and full-time engineers)
- Provides technical support outside of local plant (other plants, Rehrig Service Operations, in-field customer support)
- Maintains updated and accurate plant layouts, floor plans and system schematics and specifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Plastics, Manufacturing or equivalent)
- Project management experience, including project management tools and software
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma
- Experience with coding and programming
- Experience with hand and power tools
- Excellent communicator (verbal & written) and an ability to summarize and communicate information clearly
- Excellent problem-solving skills and familiarity with problem solving terms and tools
- Highly proficient with MS Office tools
- Ability to leverage data to drive decisions and project focus
- Ability and willingness to travel (estimated travel frequency < 10%)

Description
Purpose of RoleRehrig Pacific Company's Plant Engineers are an integral part of our operations and are responsible for identifying and driving solutions that improve our performance and operational costs. Plant Engineers are responsible for planning, design and implementation of equipment, machinery, and automation. They are expected to work collaborative with other plant resources, and to create safe, stable, and reliable manufacturing processes and systems through the analysis of data and the application of sound engineering practices.
