- This role involves diagnosing electrical system circuit faults, repairing electrical wiring to OEM standards, identifying issues with vehicle electrical systems, fixing damaged electrical parts, and maintaining electrical repair equipment for an automotive manufacturer.
- Provide on-site vehicle repair or mentorship at an OEM vehicle assembly facility on weekdays and occasional weekends. Shift hours may vary.
- Diagnose and address electrical problems.
- Offer timely repair estimates.
- Repair or replace faulty wiring and connectors.
- Install new vehicle wiring systems following OEM standards.
- Troubleshoot immobilizer and alarm systems.
- Service electrical automotive parts.
- Repair electrical systems in new OEM vehicles.
- Maintain a clean workspace.
- Complete job reports and paperwork.
- Guide other repair personnel to enhance their understanding of vehicle electrical systems.
- Demonstrate efficient methods of diagnosing and correcting vehicle electrical system deficiencies.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify vehicle deficiencies accurately.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert on vehicle electrical system architectures.
- Share insights with site leadership and repair personnel promptly.
- Occasional travel to work sites in other states may be required.
- Minimum 5 years' experience as an electrical repair technician.
- Advanced knowledge of modern vehicular electrical systems.
- Problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to work in tight vehicle spaces.
- Color distinction skills.
- Proficiency in interpreting digital multimeter readings and other diagnostic tools.
- Capability to lead discussions and interpret electrical schematic diagrams.
- Independence in work with no supervision.
- Valid Driver's License.
- ASE certifications.
- Experience as a shop foreman or lead technician.
- Background in automotive electrical schematic development.
- Automotive Technical Assistance Center Experience.
- Associates Degree or Certificate in Automotive Technology, engineering, or related field.
