    FITTER WELDER APPRENTICE - 2nd Shift Work Schedule:
    12-hour shifts, 4 days per week - please see hours of operation below
    Monday thru Friday 3:30pm - 4am


    HOURLY PAY:
    $21.5% SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL

    $1,000.The Fitter Welder Apprentice will be responsible for the local delivery and execution of the fit up, fabrication and core welding to vendors and managers in accordance with Johnson Controls principles, corporate policies and procedures, and plant operations. You will perform a variety of employment related functions for the ultimate purpose of enhancing employee engagement, safety and health, productivity and ensuring employee compliance with Company policies in a manufacturing facility.

    Fitter Welder Apprentice will have the ability to apply minimum of 6 months of MIG welding experience into product.


    • Operate manual and semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as GMAW and Plasma Cutter.
    • Operate manual and semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment.
    • Conduct technical inspections.
    • Ensure accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects.
    • Complete motor coupling installations
    • Participate in training program as trainee/trainer as required.
    • Practice and promote 5S throughout facility.
    • Have successfully passed 2G plate welding test and 6G short arc pipe welding test within Johnson Controls - San Antonio
    • The use of various hand tools, machinery and equipment will be required to manufacture metal.
    • This position will work with supervisors and leadman to ensure continuous improvements in work cells, hitting quotas, welding according to pre-set parameters using GMAW welding processes.
    • The Welder will be required to have strong knowledge and skill in operating all metalworking machinery.
    • Additionally, the Welder will be required to read and understand production drawings, blueprints, work orders and other written instructions.
    Minimum of 6 months of MIG Alloy and Steel welding experience
