    Job Description
    SGM is seeking a full-time Bridge Structural Engineer for our Glenwood Springs, CO office.

    Our team is responsible for the design, load rating, and inspection of bridges, retaining walls, and miscellaneous structures for a variety of public and private clients on the West Slope of Colorado.

    The key responsibilities for this position include working and coordinating with a multi-disciplinary team, development of construction documents for structural projects, and self-managing design tasks with attention to the project scope, schedule, and budget.

    The successful candidate must be a fast learner who is an organized self-starter with a strong attention to detail.

    The candidate is expected to be a team player with strong written and verbal communication skills and a strong desire to live, work and play in Western Colorado.

    Depending on experience level, the anticipated salary range for this position may be as follows: Engineer I – $61,400 – $70,400 per year or Engineer II – $64,800 – $79,600
    Job Requirements



    Qualifications:
    BS degree in Structural Engineering, or Civil Engineering with a Structural focus
    EI Certification or ability to obtain in the first year of employment
    0-4 years of experience in the design and construction of concrete and steel bridges
    Ability to use software to complete basic structural analysis and validate results with simplified methods

    Proficiency with the following software:
    Microsoft Office and structural analysis software
    Ability to self-manage design tasks and stay within project scope, schedule, and budget
    Valid Driver's License

    Additional Preferred

    Qualifications:
    MS degree in Structural Engineering, or Civil Engineering with a Structural focus
    Experience in structural detailing of concrete, steel, and timber members
    Detailed knowledge and understanding of the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications
    Experience preparing structural design calculations, quantity takeoffs and developing clear and concise calculation packages that are easily reviewed by senior staff and review agencies
    Bridge construction experience (either office technical support or field inspection)
    Proficiency with AASHTOWare, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, LPile, PGSuper, and RISA
    Basic understanding of the CDOT Bridge Design Manual, CDOT Standard Specifications, AASHTO Manual for Bridge Evaluation, and CDOT Load Rating Manual
