Reporting to VP + General Manager in our Chicago Office, Sam Schwartz, a TYLin Company is seeking an emerging leader to join our Chicago practice.

The Senior Design Engineer will assist in the pursuit of federally funded Phase 1 engineering studies and manage project delivery of preliminary engineering projects related to urban street design.

The individual we seek will have industry connections, as they will assist in developing, marketing, and maintaining business relationships.
Assumption of Project Manager/Lead roles, depending on the project.

Recommend appropriate technical resources (hardware/software, library materials, etc.) Work with junior staff to increase the efficiency of the work being prepared.

Training of the staff (internal and project training).
Experience working with CDOT, IDOT, Cook County and other local and county agencies.
~ Progressively responsible project experience in Federally Funded Phase 1 preliminary engineering and / or Phase II design for complete streets, urban design projects, and other multimodal roadway projects.
~ Experience mentoring or managing work product of staff engineers.
