    Academic Urology & Urogynecology of Arizona (owned and operated by Palo Verde Cancer Specialists) is searching for an Advanced Practice Practitioner (NP or PA) to join our ever-growing practice This position would be hospital-based and will require travel between several of our hospital affiliates thoughout the West/North Valley.

    General Duties & Responsibilities of the Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant:

    • Performs complete evaluations on patients of all ages
    • Orders and interprets appropriate lab, x-ray, and special studies
    • Establishes a working diagnosis based upon acquired data
    • Develops a treatment plan for urological conditions in accordance with current urology practice and in conjunction with the urologist
    • Implements therapeutic intervention
    • Provides appropriate follow-up care
    • Exercises judgment on conditions requiring consultation, referral, or evaluation by the supervising urologist or other healthcare professionals
    • All other duties as assigned

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Sees new, follow-up, and post-op patients and provides problem-oriented intervention for their urological conditions
    • Assists in care, treatment, and follow-up as needed
    • Performs and/or assists procedures, including transrectal ultrasound (TRUS) volume studies, cystoscopies, difficult catheterizations, post-op voiding trails, and other necessary procedures
    • Orders and interprets lab, x-ray, special studies, and clinical procedures and provides appropriate care and follow-up
    • Provides phone/video consultation for patient complaints and prescription refills
    • Performs on-call duties for urology
    • Evaluates, screens, and counsels patients on health maintenance and promotes utilization of community resources

    Job Requirements


    Education & Experience requirements of the Urology Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP):

    • Master of Science in Nursing or equivalent PA program degree
    • Current valid state medical license
    • DEA/DPS license
    • Previous Urology experience is a plus but, not required.
    • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
    • Ability to work with others and demonstrate leadership qualities
