Description

System One is looking to hire a Senior Systems Administrator for a large company in the La Porte, TX, area.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years' experience in networking AND server administration. The technical skills required are VMWare, Cisco networking, and HyperV.

Position Summary:

Responsible for supporting Information Technology functions and activities; administers all computer hardware (Servers/Clients), software, and network systems to meet business needs.

Essential Functions:

Perform primarily Tier2 and some Tier3 support on all Servers and "client side" computers, including laptops, desktops and engineering workstations, Cisco Routers and Switches.

Build PC's & laptops per company standard configurations including software installation. Troubleshoot & resolve system and user problems coordinating with company management.
Servers – Build/configure hardware, install, and manage servers per company standards, group policy administration, working with the Server team.

Networking - installation and configuration of routers, switches, WLC's, & WAP's; works with network team to manage the local area network, and wireless networks and perform firmware upgrades.

Perform system and network tasks to support team which may include:

File system security:
set system access policies and user rights per security authorization procedure.
Coordinate efforts to maintain / upgrade current operating systems and hardware to standards to meet strategic objectives.

Required Skills and Abilities:
Proven ability to manage Cisco Routers/Switches within a large WAN environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of computer systems, operating systems, and procedures.
