Description

Ferrous Processing and Trading, a business of Cleveland-Cliffs Steel, has an immediate opportunity for a Welder at our Schlafer operation.

The welder is responsible for repairs, fabricating, and assembling custom-designed equipment.

Welds metal parts together using both gas welding or brazing and any combination of arc welding processes
Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws
Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety while working in full compliance with approved safety regulations.

3-5 years of welding experience
Strong math skills and the ability to interpret mechanical drawings, pneumatic and electric engineering drawings are a plus
Must be able to pass a hands-on welding test
the largest flat-rolled steel company and the largest iron ore pellet producer in North America.

Cleveland-Cliffs is vertically integrated from mined raw materials, direct reduced iron, and ferrous scrap to primary steelmaking and downstream finishing, stamping, tooling, and tubing.
