    Role Summary:

    An Associate in Training is responsible for learning, understanding, and embracing CBI's design and delivery methods, policies, procedures, and selling strategies. The AIT will learn and perform project management responsibilities, under the supervision of their direct manager and CBI training coordinator. Upon successful completion of the AIT Individual Development Plan (IDP), the AIT is formally reviewed by their direct manager and may advance to an Associate Design Project Manager (ADPM), the transition role to move from training to a fully qualified and broadly functional, independent DPM.

    Responsibilities:

    • Diligently pursue and complete training activities to gain a broad awareness of CBI.
    • Perform Design Project Management tasks on various projects, usually under direction of a more senior associate.
    • Learn to use the software portfolio to design, price, order and manage our projects, including REVIT, AutoCAD, specification tools, business systems, CET, and others.
    • Develop and execute organization habits and skills to manage project status through.
    • Learn Communication skills to interact with the various internal and external parties involved in a project.
    • Describe the technical and design details of our primary products.
    • Think efficiently and creatively perform space planning and to recommend appropriate and cost-effective solutions for our clients.
    • Learn to create sales presentation tools through Power Point.
    • Create and manage budgets through specification tools and Excel including change orders.
    • Book and manage orders through our business system and review and communicate project status on a weekly basis.
    • Work in a team-oriented environment.
    • Learn and understand vendor contracts, discounts, and margins.
    • Learn to coordinate all aspects of an installation including job-site analysis, field measurement verification, schedules, shipments, walkthroughs, etc.
    • Manage punch completion in a timely manner.
    • Manage a relationship with the client post project and through day 2 needs.
