    We are currently looking for a Prototype Engineering Quality Assurance Engineer (Level 2) to join our team in Novi, Michigan.

    The PTE QA Engineer will be responsible for the quality of all prototype parts received by NTCNA.

    This requires evaluation of parts tracked by NTCNA, contact with suppliers to inform them of the NTCNA prototype part quality requirements, and evaluation of suppliers on an ongoing basis to assure suppliers will be able to meet NTCNA requirements.


    Job Functions include but are not limited to:

    • Evaluate proposed part physical and functional criteria used to evaluate preproduction parts documented on ANPQP Inspection Reports (IR) and Special Characteristics Key Feature Diagrams (SCKD). Provide ANPQP IR and SCKFD criteria approval to suppliers.
    • Review ANPQP IR and KFD with measurement data on parts shipped by suppliers and tracked by NTCNA. Provide ANPQP IR and SCKFD data approval to suppliers.
    • Provide engineering analysis of prototype parts to assure they meet NTCNA quality requirements (part judgment process, modification proposal for prototype parts, and concern reports). Communicate quality issues with suppliers and work with them on problem resolution.
    • Monitor and review supplier preproduction quality performance metrics.
    • Support other *** internal groups as needed to ensure part quality and issue resolution on part discrepancies.
    • Support special assignments related to preproduction part quality.
    • Adhere to ***'s safety policies.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • BS in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.
    • Minimum of 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment preferably automotive.
    • Experience with ANPQP and part approval process preferred.
    • Strong proven problem solving ability.
    • Ability to work with and understand engineering drawing specifications and requirements including CAD.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    Strong interpersonal skills.

    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and other PC applications, or mainframe applications.
    • The PTE QA Engineer must be able to multitask and stay focused on proactive activities while meeting reactive responsibilities tied to part quality concerns.
