    The Driver Trainer is to assess driver skills and coach as required to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.

    They will work with all stakeholders to support operations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform over the road driver skills assessments (pre and post hire).
    • Assist in driver orientations both in truck and classroom.
    • Assist in remedial training.
    • Perform and observed behavior assessments (in cab and remote).
    • Train and assist drivers Post Incident.
    • Help to implement new programs and ways to improve the program.
    • Ensure all road tests are completed to our standards and compliance.
    • Attend all company required meetings.
    • Determine appropriate instructional methods.
    • Assist in the development of training material.
    • Additional responsibilities and tasks are required when 'asked.
    • Provide support to new and current driver group.

    Requirements:

    • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
    • Detail oriented with excellent organizational, problem solving, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills
    • Familiar with the Microsoft programs and operating systems
    • Full understanding of DOT Regulations
    • Analytical and Problem-Solving skills
    • Hands-on attitude with a can-do attitude wanting to succeed in the role
    • Self-motivated and can work at a fast pace
    • Able to operate a variety of commercial vehicles with Air Brake Endorsement
    • Able to operate both manual and automatic shifting transmissions
    • Waste industry experience is an asset
    • Able to adjust to a dynamic schedule
    • General Education Diploma Required
    • Minimum 10 years driving experience
    • FLEET Driver Trainer certification
    • Minimum 2 years driver trainer experience
    • Preferred to possess a valid Commercial Driver's License
