    **Position Summary**: The primary purpose of this position is to assist Northland Area Federal Credit Union in living out its Service Mission, To be our members most trusted financial partner. One of the primary means to achieve this end is to develop a highly effective team of employees and develop each employee to their highest potential through coaching and leadership. Responsible for ensuring that outstanding service is delivered to both internal and external members. A key component of this service is to identify the financial needs of the member and recommend an appropriate credit union solution. Additionally, this position supports the Branch Manager in the overall operational functions of the office. To oversee the branch in the event that the Branch Manager is absent or otherwise engaged.

    **Essential Functions and Responsibilities:**

    Ensure team delivers service to both internal and external members that are in alignment with the credit unions Service Promises

    Assist the Branch Manager in the development of each employee to their highest potential by identifying their areas for improvement and appropriately coaching, training or correcting the employees performance

    Recognize employees who perform at a high level.

    Assist the Branch Manager to hold employees accountable for their performance, attitude and behavior

    Assist the Branch Manager in meeting with each employee monthly to review previous months performance, set goals for upcoming months performance and develop plans to improve employees performance

    Assist in ensuring that the branch meets sales goals as established by the Credit Union.

    Assist in ensuring that the branch meets all established service goals as measured by Member Shoppers

    Demonstrate enthusiastic support of corporate mission, core values and long-term objectives.

    Performs job duties within our bylaws, regulations, Board of Directors policies, established internal and external service standards, and our work procedures

    Assist in the training and supervision of branch staff; Assign, direct, coordinate and review work performed by staff

    Assist in maintaining a highly motivated, well-trained staff maintaining effective employee relations

    Assist the Branch Manager with the operations of the branch; May include scheduling staff, answering questions on products and services, policies and procedures, or rules and regulations

    Adhere to all branch polcies and procedures as well as ensuring audit integrity in the branch

    Assist staff or members in solving complex problems

    Maintain consistent and productive lines of communication between yourself, management and staff

    Open new accounts and service existing accounts

    Interview, process and close loan requests

    Aggressively promotes and sells by utilizing the CUNA Mutual Lender Development Program to Credit Union members. Responsible for promoting Credit Life and Credit Disability Insurance, underwritten by CUNA Mutual Insurance Society, sales to Credit Union members.

    Assist the Branch Manager in the requirement to achieve that CUNA Mutual Lender Development Program participants meet the branch goal and staff meets their individual goals for both Credit Life Disability Insurance and Credit Disability Insurance for the 12-month performance period

    Review and process monthly branch reports

    Review branch procedures and make recommendations for changes and improvements

    Assist the Branch Manager in evaluating the job performance of branch staff (as assigned) to ensure quality of work and service to members

    Responsible for successful cross selling to members as well as training staff for successful cross sells; maintain a cross-selling environment within the branch

    Support/adhere to all NAFCU security functions/policies for the benefit of the organization, members and staff

    Represent NAFCU in the community through active participation

    **Requirements:**

    Minimum of 3 years credit union, financial institution or equivalent relevant work experience

    Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license

    State of Michigan Credit Insurance Producer License obtained within 12 months of acquiring position

    **Success Factors / Job Competencies:**

    The successful candidate will have demonstrated general knowledge of credit union products and services; possess the ability to work independently and be highly motivated to increase member satisfaction. Requires a professional approach in dealing with problems, members and staff, as well as, excellent written and verbal communication skills. This position also requires strong organizational skills and the ability to remain stable and competent in stressful and/or crisis situations.

    **Physical Demands and Work Environment:**

    Typical indoor office work environment with occasional sitting in a stationary position required. Must be able to also frequently remain in a standing position and move about/traverse inside the branch. Requires occasional reaching and lifting/carrying of up to 50 pounds. Must be able to continuously communicate to others and exchange information, as well as, continuous repetitive use of hand/fingers, such as keyboard typing, counting cash, using office equipment, etc. Must be able to continuously think analytically, concentrate on tasks, and remember names and/or details. Requires frequent handling of stress/emotions and the occasional use of written communication.
