- Hospital is a privately owned, 78-bed acute care hospital nestled between the redwoods and the Pacific Ocean, just minutes away from a river, bay, beaches and forests. - Arcata is also home to Humboldt State University, which offers a seasonal performance venue (Center Arts) and diverse cultural and athletic activities, in addition to educational opportunities. The local airport is serviced by United Airlines/Skywest, with daily flights to major airport hubs in California.
