    Location: Hybrid - On-site 2 days a week

    As the Operations Technical Services Telecommunications Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing and assessing engineering requirements for various types of telecommunications equipment. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate engineering maintenance plans, managing equipment, and contributing to the enhancement of telecommunications assets.

    The Telecommunications Engineer will review current assets and system architecture, identify areas for improvement based on industry best practices, and develop plans for upgrades and replacements. Creativity and out-of-the-box thinking are encouraged to deliver innovative solutions and ensure the reliability of telecommunications assets.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Evaluate and forecast maintenance needs for telecommunication assets
    • Develop business cases for funding and manage budgets
    • Create transition plans for equipment upgrades
    • Establish standards and specifications for telecommunications
    • Document and update device configurations company-wide
    • Collaborate with employees on testing and troubleshooting
    • Optimize network resources and bandwidth utilization
    • Conduct signal propagation and network analysis
    • Provide guidance and support to engineers and operations personnel
    • Participate in professional development seminars
    • Stay informed of industry codes, regulations, and safety practices
    • Perform storm roles as necessary
    • Other duties as assigned

    Education/Experience Required:

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-Accredited Institution
    • Minimum five years of relevant utility experience
    • Valid driver's license for travel
    • Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills
    • Excellent technical writing and troubleshooting abilities

    Education/Experience Preferred:

    • Combination of field and office experience
    • Infrared certifications (preferred)
    • EIT/FE certification (preferred)
