    Position Purpose:

    An Assistant Branch Manager (ABM) is accountable for supervising the branch's daily operations, focusing on improving branch performance, boosting sales growth, and delivering exceptional customer service. The ABM plays a dual role as a team member and coach, working towards achieving branch and individual sales targets by identifying customer needs, resolving issues, and fostering relationships. Additionally, the ABM is responsible for guiding, supervising, and training the branch team, embodying Civista Bank's mission to enhance the financial well-being of employees and shareholders, and make a positive impact in the communities we operate in.

    Requirements:

    Key Responsibilities and Expectations:

    • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly coaching, communication, and performance evaluation for both individuals and the team. Lead the team through the sales process, promote change management, and embrace new concepts to focus on expanding the branch and the organization.
    • Collaborate daily with the branch team to create an outstanding customer journey by offering personalized service, fostering relationships, identifying needs, recommending products, and connecting customers with partners to expand the bank's reach.
    • Acquire an in-depth understanding of products and services to meet customer requirements, address issues, and handle escalated problems efficiently.
    • Exhibit behaviors that support team development with competence, speed, and precision to address customer and employee requests promptly.
    • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual customer satisfaction metrics both at an individual and team level.
    • Lead, coach, and demonstrate a proficient understanding of all facets of the consumer lending process in daily operations; establish customer trust and manage relationships throughout the loan lifecycle.
    • Maintain regular and effective communication internally and externally to deliver an exceptional customer experience, while adhering to regulations by following established protocols to safeguard customers and the bank.
    • Ensure day-to-day oversight for completion of operational tasks.
    • Open personal, business, and loan accounts along with complementary products and services.
    • Meet the annual branch deposit and consumer loan targets as set.
    • Supervise branch staffing.
    • Serve as a backup to the Branch Manager, sharing overall branch operations and customer service responsibilities, including coaching and leading branch meetings.
    • Conduct performance assessments and recommend suitable personnel measures.
    • Participate in the interviewing and hiring process in collaboration with the Branch Manager and Regional Manager.
    • Promote and facilitate the use of technology in day-to-day banking interactions, educating customers on technological tools such as mobile banking, P2P transfers, online banking, and more.

    Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:

    • Demonstrate proficiency in leading, coaching, motivating, and developing staff.
    • 2-3 years' experience in retail or branch banking settings.
    • Prioritize delivering an exceptional customer experience.
    • Supervise and coach the team to achieve sales excellence and ensure the provision of outstanding customer service.
    • Preferably hold an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree.
    • High School diploma or equivalent is required.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Tasks involve eye strain from prolonged use of computer screens, reading reports, etc.
    • Ability to focus on tasks amid potentially distracting work environments.
    • Capability to lift and carry files weighing up to 50 lbs.
    • Proficient in reading, hearing, writing, and communicating effectively in person and over the phone.
    • Ability to travel for meetings, training sessions, etc., as needed.
