    Normandy Farm Hotel is seeking qualified individuals who are interested in working in an upscale hospitality environment.     Supervises: Front Desk Agents

    Must have flexibly to be scheduled any of the following shifts:

    7:00 AM - 3:30PM, 3:00PM - 11:30PM and occasional overnight shifts from 11:00PM - 7:30AM

    This position requires a pre-employment background and drug screen.

    Purpose for the position: To assume full and direct responsibility for the management of the day-to-day and long-term hotel rooms division, to include all departments outlined above. To work with the Front Desk Manager to ensure an efficient operation that provides levels of service that consistently exceeds visitor, guest, management, and ownership expectations.

    Front Desk Supervisor Functions:

    • Supervise associates in their assigned job duties.
    • Plan and assign workloads for Front Desk Agents
    • Assist in hiring and training associates in front office duties.
    • Assist in scheduling and coordinating schedules on behalf of the Front Office Manager
    • Evaluate the performance of associates.
    • Manage incoming and outgoing phone calls.
    • Must be readily available to deal with problems or complaints.
    • Ensure that guests are greeted, checked in and allocated rooms promptly and courteously.
    • Ensure that check-in procedures are strictly adhered to and that the correct address and charge out details are obtained from each guest.
    • Ensure that rooms have been serviced and maintained to the standards established by the company.
    • Ensure maximum room occupancy within the agreed overbooking policy.
    • Ensure effective liaison between reservations and front office staff with other departments (e.g., housekeeping).
    • Ensure that all charges are correctly entered into the guest's bill and that this is always up to date.
    • Ensure that credit control procedures are strictly adhered to, that no bills exceed the stipulated limit without prior approval and that written confirmation, purchase orders, or order numbers are on file.
    • Balance accounts daily.
    • Ensure effective and speedy check-out procedures.
    • Ensure that luggage is delivered to and collected from rooms speedily.
    • Ensure that inquiries, messages, theatre bookings are dealt with courteously and efficiently.
    • Ensure that all Front of House staff are always correctly dressed.
    • Ensure that all Front of House areas are always clean and orderly.
    • Ensure that newspapers and parcels are delivered to rooms without delay.
    • Ensure that incoming and outgoing telephone calls are handled promptly and courteously.
    • Ensure maximum security of all items left in safety deposit boxes.
    • Carry out systematic checks of all Front of House areas for maintenance requirements, repairs, or refurbishing, ensuring that these are acted on without delay.
    • Hold regular performance appraisals with all staff, identifying areas for development and training needs and ensuring that training is affected.
    • Carry out or ensure that regular On-the-Job training is taking place to agreed standards.
    • Hold regular meetings with all Heads of Department.
    • Ensure that manning levels are correct, and these are not exceeded without permission.
    • Ensure that the most suitably qualified person is appointed in the event of a vacancy - wherever possible this should be an internal promotion.
    • Ensure maximum security in all areas under your control.
    • Act as Duty Manager when required.
    • Attend Management Meetings as required.
    Requirements
    • Must be at least 18 years old.
    • Experience in a full-service hotel as a supervisor or a minimum of 3 years as a Hotel Front Desk Agent
    • Minimum of a High School Diploma
    • Hospitality degree is a plus.
    • Possess basic knowledge of excellent service standards as well as etiquette.
    • Ability to work well under pressure, dealing with many arrivals and departures within a short period of time.
    • Available to work weekends, evening shifts and major holidays (Easter, Mother's Day, Thanksgiving, along with other special events from time to time)
    • Mandatory compliance with all safety regulations, procedures, policies, and rules
    • Regular and predictable attendance
    • Always arrives punctually in full uniform with a neat & professional appearance.
    • Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, carrying, bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
    • Able to lift 25 pounds without assistance and more than 50 pounds with assistance.
    • Must be able to multitask several different actions at once.
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States
    • Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
    • Fluency in a foreign language is a plus.
    Salary Description

    $19.00 -$21.00 per hour
