    REPORTS TO:
    School Leader


    SUPERVISES:
    Co-Teachers providing targeted support


    PURPOSE:

    To support teachers in providing quality instruction to students in accordance with the Montessori philosophy and the North Carolina Standard Course of Study.


    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
    Effective planning and assessment of Math/Reading curriculum grades K-12.


    Provides support to teachers in assisting students who are identified as at risk to help students perform at grade level.

    Works with teachers to develop materials and lesson plans.

    Conducts informal classroom observations.


    Provides quality feedback to teachers on effective instruction, which includes making learning goals clear to the students, using appropriate instructional and questioning strategies.

    Uses innovative approaches to increase student learning and confidence to learn.

    Responsible for the promotion of high standards and expectations for student achievement.


    Collaborates with identified teachers who share at-risk students served and develops a transition plan between the intervention plan and the regular classroom.

    Maintain data and documentation, as appropriate.

    Participate in school-wide professional development and seek continual feedback and coaching to develop as a teacher

    Performance of other job-related duties as assigned.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    Experience with MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Support)

    Master's degree or bachelor's degree with at least three years of experience.

    North Carolina Teaching License Elementary K-6 and Math 6-9 or ELA 6-9

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    AMS/AMI Montessori Certification

    Experience working in a Montessori setting
